Obedience Course - Background

We know the importance of a well-trained dog at East Texas Elite Kennels! We teach your four-legged friend the skills needed to appear in public. After your dog completes our six-week basic general obedience course, you'll feel confident taking your pet anywhere for the rest of its life.


Your pet will stay at our facility during the duration of its training. During that time, you can rest assured your pup will be receiving the exercise, proper nutrition, love, care, and attention they deserve.  If you're going on vacation, our obedience classes are a great alternative to traditional boarding services for dogs in need of training. Training – Everyday Obedience and Preparing for Competition

This program is an obedience course. This is for the owner who wants a pet to be off-leash and run free while still obeying commands. This is a 6-week course for dogs that are 6 months and older. They will learn:


  • "Here" command 
  • "Sit" command
  • “Kennel" command
  • "Place" command
  • "Heel" command 
  • "Quiet" command
  • Walk at heel (with or without a lead)
  • Extreme socialization with other dogs 
  • Extreme socialization with other humans 
  • Obey all commands on and off the lead


This program will be the entryway for you to compete in obedience competitions. After the program, most dogs can start case-specific service training. This is for the pet owner that wants to take their dog to the hardware store, out camping, on an ATV ride, or to the next family event to impress their friends and family. This course is also ideal for an owner that has a dog that they wish to become a service dog.
